We focus on documenting genuine, real life, in-between moments.

What you can you expect on a shoot with Sam Sullivan Photography? Our photos are never “posed.” You won’t get those awkward, stiff pictures full of blank stares, staged angles and lifeless gestures that fall flat. We focus on documenting genuine, real life, in-between moments: You know, the ones that actually capture who you are, why you are here, what you want to say, and how you want to feel in ten years when you look back on your day. We will capture your emotions, moods and intentions the moment the shutter button is hit. You’ll see your photos and totally be transported back to that moment and fall in love again. This is our purpose for you. (do not fret though, we will still get in those posed shots for your mom and Grandma, cheesy, but still traditionally necessary)

We have to warn you though, your photographer will most likely yell out, “yasssss!” mid shoot and tell you that she’s “literally dying” every time a shot looks amazing. Your photographers will be your cheerleaders because that’s really just who we are, and we kinda can’t help it. If that isn’t for you, and it very well may not be, there is nothing wrong with keeping it moving!

Tell us who you are, why you are, and what you want to say, and then we’ll go on an adventure together.

We’re inspired by couples that are risk takers and live outside the box and outside the traditions our prior generations left for us. We encourage our couples to decide what makes them happy, and let that direct our time together. Be honest - with yourself, your photographer and with the camera lens.

Samantha Sullivan formally, but most people call me Sam.

When I’m not working or editing, you can usually find me enjoying food and drinks at my local fav spots or sending my husband puppy + kitten pics on IG. Usually as we sit right next to each other on the sofa binging The Office or GOT. (I recently just started rewatching True Blood- Do not ask lol)

I fell in love with photography many moons ago. I took pleasure in photographing and editing my fun life, but it was not until I married Casey that I discovered my calling. After countless conversations, sessions, and the most wonderful day of my life with my own photographer, I had an epiphany: I could totally do this! I was inspired to take the leap, and plunge into this community. I never looked back.

I love… love! There is something so raw and honest about two people in love, two people about to tell each other and the world how much they are wanted and valued and needed. I love being a part of that. There is something so special and so important about holding the camera that captures those intimate moments. It needs to be done right. It needs to tell a story. It needs to paint a picture. I pride myself in bringing these moments to life. Because after the bouquet is preserved, and the tux is returned, and the thank you cards are sent, after life goes on, these photos are what you’re left with. It’s the coolest thing to be responsible for that.
